WHO WE ARE?
The Friends of the Howorth Library ("Friends") is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in 1983. We've become a vital and influential group that supports the library in every conceivable way. Just a few of the gifts/events from the Friends include: The Children's Summer Reading Program • Fish Tanks in the Children's Area • Shelving • Fall Scarecrow-Making • Goods and Services Auction • Potluck Suppers • Super Bowl Raffle and Tailgate Party • Adult and Children's Programming • CD and DVD Cleaner. With the funds that we raise, the Friends are able to help the library better serve the Haworth community, supplying those "extras" that otherwise might not be possible.
WHAT'S GOING ON?
The Friends wil be sponsoring an author lunch on May 7th featuring Lauren Grodstein, a Haworth native whose most recent novel, A Friend of the Family has received consistently high marks. In addition to favorable reviews by publications that include The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, the novel was also selected by Amazon as book of the month this past Novemeber.
Also coming in late Spring - the Friends will be organizing and hosting a Kitchen Tour.
